YOUTH UNITED, Student United Way for Central Illinois, equips area high school, university and college students with the education, awareness and experience to more effectively collaborate and create lasting change within the community.

YOUTH UNITED Grants

Student United Way for Central Illinois offers one-time, annual YOUTH UNITED grants for youth-related programs. In 2013-2014, sixteen grants were awarded to programs throughout out the Heart of Illinois United Way's service area, covering safety and health education, mentoring, summer camps, community gardens, counseling and anti-bullying programs, and much more.

YOUTH UNITED: Student United Way for Central Illinois offers one-time, annual grants for youth-related programs. Members of YOUTH UNITED determine the focus areas of the grants, request applications from Heart of Illinois United Way partner agencies and make allocation decisions.

For the upcoming year, grants were awarded to programs throughout out the Heart of Illinois United Way’s service area. These grants cover safety and health education, mentoring, summer camps, community gardens, counseling and anti-bullying programs, and much more.

Grants

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria, Inc.
BGC Summer Program, to be used to offset the cost of pool admission and fuel for transportation.

Center for Prevention of Abuse
Violence Prevention Education program, to be used to purchase a portable projector, computer speakers and lights and sound answer buzzers.

Center for Youth and Family Solutions
TCAP program, to be used to construct a raised garden and purchase needed building and gardening supplies.

Central Illinois FRIENDS of PWA, Inc.
GYT Days, to be used to offset the expenses of safe sex supplies and new safe sex pamphlets.

Children’s Home Association of Illinois
Residential Services at Youth Farm, to be used to hire local professionals to structure a music program for Youth Farm kids.

Crittenton Centers
Supporting Teen Parents Program, to be used to purchase emergency supplies for participating teenage mothers and their infants.

Easterseals Central Illinois
I Can Bike program, to be used to cover the cost of t-shirts, medals, water bottles, and snacks.

EP!C
Certificate Program, to be used to cover the costs of scholarships and transportation for the students.

Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois
Youth Services Program, to be used to offset the cost of youth engagement activities.

Hult Center for Healthy Living
Matthew/Michelle Program, to be used to offset costs of travel, health, and hygiene supplies.

Neighborhood House Association
Neighborhood House and Peoria Pride Basketball Program, to be used to purchase equipment and support the salary for a basketball coach.

Peoria Friendship House
STEAMS Academy Program to offset costs to refresh the computer lab.

South Side Office of Concern
Community Learning for Homeless Kids Program, to be used to offset the costs of educational community-based trips

Tazewell County Resource Centers
Ann Benjamin Camp, to be used to offset camping expenses.

YWCA Pekin
School Supply Outreach, to be used to offset the expenses of school supplies.
