July 12: Boy Scout Golf Classic, W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Enjoy a great day of golf, and help support Scouting in Central Illinois! You can do both by signing up for the 2010 Boy Scout Golf Classic. July 15: Seniors on the Go, Hult Center for Health Education.
Health education seminar for seniors 55+. Cholesterol lipid management: Medications, nutrition and exercise from 10:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Parkinson’ and Seniors from 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Reservations required: 309-692-6650.

July 21: TCRC Golf Classic, Tazewell County Resource Centers, Inc. (TCRC)
Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. registration, 12:00 p.m. shotgun start at Pine Lakes Golf Club in Washington, IL. This event includes 18 holes of golf, skill competitions, cash prizes, and an awards BBQ after play. The entry fee is $75.00 per golfer. Proceeds from the annual Golf Classic support the programs at TCRC that benefit the children and adults from our community who are impacted by developmental disabilities and visual impairments. July 23: Over the Edge, W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America.
In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, the W. D. Boyce Council, with the sponsorship of Better Banks and Maui Jim Sunglasses, will host a rappelling event from the roof of Civic Center Plaza. The event will benefit the ScoutREACH program of the W. July 31: Kid’s Day, Crittenton Centers.
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie. This event includes many children’s activities such as: space walk, fencing and karate demos, face painting, balloon figures, games and a dunk tank that will feature well known community members. Also featured at Kid’s Day is Child Safety Services with finger print identification for children, dental health screenings, child development information and other family services. August 7: Mad Dash, GENeration United.
The GEN U Mad Dash is a competitive adventure and rewarding community project rolled into one! This never-seen-before event is a fundraiser for Heart of Illinois United Way’s (HOIUW) 2010 Campaign! On August 7, 2010, teams of 2-4 (ages 18+, athletic ability not required) will race against the clock to solve clues in order to complete exciting challenges throughout the Peoria area and experience some of HOIUW’s partner agencies in a unique way! August 28: Dan Fogelberg Tribute Concert, Cancer Center for Healthy Living.
The Dan Fogelberg Tribute Concert will feature Illinois’ finest artists at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, downtown Peoria on August 28, 2010. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and conclude around 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for floor seating, $25 for main level and $20 for balcony. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis and are available at www.cchlpeoria.org or by calling 309-693-8139.

August 29: Duck Race, The Center for Prevention of Abuse.

September 10: Kickoff Breakfast and Day of Caring, Heart of Illinois United Way.
The 2010 Day of Caring is scheduled to coincide with the campaign Kickoff Breakfast on Friday, September 10, 2010. This year’s Day of Caring is geared towards helping children and supporting issues related to food and hunger. Please contact Gina Edwards at 309-674-5181 for more information.

September 18: Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner, W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America.

October 1-3: 2010 Council Centennial Camporee, W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America.
