United Way 101
- The 96 funded programs through the Heart of Illinois United Way’s (HOIUW) 45 partner agencies and special initiatives deliver services and assistance to more than 1,100 people everyday in our community.
- More than 40 percent of those helped are under the age of 18.
- The HOIUW service area is Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Putnam and Stark counties. (There are other smaller United Way's in this area – the largest of which is the Pekin United Way.)
- Our United Way works efficiently – 90.1 cents of every dollar goes directly back to our community.
- Last year the HOIUW raised $8.6 million in the annual campaign. Money raised stays in our community.
- The Caterpillar Inc.- CEFCU – Methodist Medical Center of Illinois Challenge Grant offers a total of $250,000 that can be used as a dollar-for-dollar match for any new or increased giving.
